Week 6 Update

Week 6 Update

It's week 6! Have you ever had that feeling that time is moving quickly but also going slow? That's the boat I am in. It's hard to believe that we are in week 5 of the semester because it feels like we just started classes. I have also been incredibly busy between work, school, and enjoying the warm weather while it's still here. Being busy has made it feel like months of gone by, not weeks!

Anyways, grad school is going great. I enjoy the two courses I am enrolled in this semester. I'm taking PAD 681 Homeland Security online, and PAD 612 Admin Law with Chris Cole. In PAD 681, we have covered different aspects of terrorism including its history and attacks through articles and documentaries. Each time a documentary has been assigned to us, I am greatly surprised with how much I have enjoyed watching it. These documentaries are so interesting! As for PAD 612, admin law can be a dry topic to cover but Chris Cole makes sure to keep it interesting. We have held two class debates, each time has been very intense. We are assigned a topic to argue and winner gets bonus points! And as we all know bonus points don't happen very often, so it is a big deal if your team wins.

Grad school is going well, but being the graduate assistant is going even better. I won't lie, I was not looking forward to running this blog as this really isn't my kind of thing but I have enjoyed coming up with different ideas and putting together some fun blogs. Whenever I lose focus, or need a break from updating the alumni database I brainstorm different topics for this blog. It helps release some creativity before diving back into other work.

Anyways, before I finish up this weeks update I wanted to share this cartoon I found. It made me chuckle, and be thankful that the MPA program isn't as stressful as this cartoon's grad school sounds.
