Looking Past Graduation

As graduation begins to near I am looking at what I plan to do after I graduate. Many individuals in the MPA are already in their career, and either looking to achieve promotions or more knowledge to help them advance. These individuals are great to network with, and at times can put in a good word or know of an opening. I have also been keeping an eye on the MPA Facebook page. The department, alumni and other students regularly post about opportunities that are available. The group is a welcoming environment. If you are looking for something specific, either location or position, you are welcome to ask the group if they know of any opportunity or to keep an eye out for any. Our network is very broad. Many of our alumni are in the Greater Cincinnati area, Greater Dayton area, in Louisville or in Lexington, but we have individuals all over the United States. 

Outside of utilizing the MPA network, I have been searching a number of different job posting sites, including HireNKU. This is an NKU resource available to all NKU students. We are also coming up to NKU's Spring Career Fair. There are hundreds of employers who attend this event. This year the entire fair is virtual. The job search can be difficult and frustrating but utilizing the great built in network and tools, makes the process just a little bit more manageable.
